Hotel Indigo, Stratford-upon-Avon

The sensitive refurbishment of Stratford-upon-Avon’s historic Falcon Hotel, bringing its facilities into the 21st century.

The Grade II* listed hotel in the heart of Shakespeare’s birthplace, has been given a major upgrade, with Stepnell undertaking a sensitive refurbishment programme. The project has fully preserved the historic heritage of the distinctive three storey building, parts of which date back to the early 16th century. The original timber frame that dates back to the Tudor Period has been sympathetically partly restored and replaced.

As well as extensively refurbishing the hotel, state-of-the-art facilities were also created.
Stepnell’s Joinery Shop refurbished many period features and provided new corridor and bedroom panelling.
The project included the installation of air conditioning and the creation of a new restaurant, bar, lounge, kitchen, gym and meeting room.
